Regina Forklift Training Programs

Regina Forklift Training Programs - Are you looking for a job as a driver of a forklift? Our regulatory-compliant mobile equipment operator training provides instruction in kinds of forklifts, pre-shift check, fuel types and handling of fuels, and safe operation of a lift truck. Practical, hands-on training assists those participating in obtaining essential operational skills. Program content covers existing regulations governing the use of lift trucks. Our proven forklift courses are intended to provide training on these kinds of trucks: counterbalanced forklift, powered pallet trucks and narrow isle forklift.

How to Safely Handle Loads

Do not lower or raise the fork while the forklift is traveling. A load must not extend over the backrest due to the risk of the load sliding back toward the operator. Inspect for overhead obstructions and make certain there is adequate clearance prior to raising a load. Stay away from overhead power lines. When the load is lifted straight up, tilt it back slightly.

The lift truck is less steady when a load is in a raised position. Make certain that no one ever walks below the elevated fork. The operator should not leave the forklift while the load is raised.

When handling pallets, forks should be level and high enough to go into the pallet and extend all the way below the load. The width of the forks should provide even weight distribution.

Set the brakes and chock the wheels prior to loading and unloading the truck. The floors should be strong enough to support the weight of both the forklift and its load. Fixed jacks can be installed in order to support a semi-trailer which is not attached to a tractor. The entrance door height should clear the height of the forklift by at least 5 cm. Mark edges of rail cars, ramps or docks and avoid them.

If there is not proper ventilation into the forklift, do not stay in there for extended periods. The trucks interior must have enough lighting and be free of obstructions. Inspect the flooring of the forklift cab for holes. The installation of material which are non-slip on the floor would help avoid slipping. Clear any obstacles from docks and dockplates and make sure surfaces are not oily or wet.

Never tow or push other vehicles using a forklift.
