Regina Telehandler Certification - Telehandler certification programs are both for operators who have some experience driving a typical forklift and for individuals with no experience. The real-world training provided by these courses produces graduates who know the right and safe use of these kinds of machines.

Telehandler certification programs are offered in two forms: at a training facility; at the trainee's job site. With the former option, the manufacturer could work with a licensing agency to bring individuals to a training facility. This option provides those training with the opportunity to learn to use the equipment in a controlled setting. Upon completion, participants receive a certification or license to use this kind of machinery.

When the training is performed on the worksite, a trained instructor is sent to the work location. This is the best way to ensure that your employees receive particular training on the machines that they will be working with, helping to train the trainee in their own work environment. Trainees learn about potentially dangerous cases that could occur on the actual work place. The instruction focuses on whichever situation which are specific to the work place, enabling operators to be ready to handle these elements more safely.

The word "telehandler" is an abbreviated version of "telescopic handler," meaning a machine that has an extending or telescoping arm supporting a fork. A telehandler has various controls and characteristics just like a forklift. A telehandler has the capability of transporting and lifting loads up and away from the vehicle. Incorrect use of telehandlers can lead to serious accidents. If load limitations are exceeded, the machine could tip because of excess weight on the lift. It is an operator's responsibility to know load limitations and to use these machinery safely.

Telehandler programs designed for operators who are already certified to use a forklift are called "conversion" classes. These classes teach the differences between forklifts and telehandlers, and avoid repeating information which forklift operators already know. For trainees who have no past experience utilizing telehandler equipment, training covers the basic utilization and operation of the machine. Some groups even provide refresher courses.
